can someone help me please

hi everybody
i am new with mac os and i have a mac mini G4 the hard disk is damaged and i replaced with an other hard drive i dont have the CD for my mac and i dont know how to install the mac os, i have an original cd of mac os X snow leopard version 10.6.3 i get it form friend but i donyt know if it is the right cd or noe i can not boot or install
please can any one help me how to do it?
specs :mac mini 1.42G4/512MB
model number:A1103

Snow Leopard is for Intel Macs only, you need a retail version of either Tiger or Leopard.
Install discs designed for other Apple computers are model specific and will not work for you.
You could contact Apple and probably purchase a copy of the 'original' install disc after suppling them your mini serial number.

Unless you have a ton of fun money to pour into your mini, Tiger is going to be the most cost effective solution for you.

While I know you can find cheaper solutions on eBay or even Criagslist. Leopard PPC is abhorrently expensive. I ran into this problem a few months back with my iMac G4/800 that was running Tiger.
Now that I have a G4/PB running 10.5 I can tell you the gain is nominal for what you would expect to do on G4 mini. Granted, you do have search around a bit for older software packages that work, but once that is done, you still have a very viable computer.
