hello i have got a mac mini 80gb 10.6.8 with snow leopard but i only have the dvd reader and i was wondering if any one knows if i can use the usb connection so i can attach my acer aspire laptop so i can use the dvd burner,i have got roxio installed so i can create a dvd but i cannot burn,i have to copy every thing to a memory stick and then use the laptop ?

The answer, unless I am mistaken is no.

Here is why, if you had a mac laptop, you can easily share all the drives attached to that laptop with your mini via Sharing pref's. However, with windows and mac? It's not gonna play nice.
The solution here? A cheap USB external DVDRW. I don't have privy to the markets in England as it has been around 7 years since I was there last. But here are some affordable examples from this side of the pond:
