|
|
I just upgraded my MM OS(CD 1.66 etc) to Snow Leopard. The MM didn't like the disc and after multiple tries and tech help (that didn't help).SL loaded up..!!! great!!...well not really.
I'm using my MM as a HTPC.I have a 2009 i7iMac with a BT keys and mouse I'm using on the iMac and MM.The mouse connects and pairs but the KB doesn't want to.I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with a tech manager only to fail every attempt.
The last word was upgrade 10.6.3(from the disc) to 10.6.8.....
That created new problems all it's own however..i finally got the MM to connect to the KB BUT! it won't pair.It gave me keypasses but every combination (after another 1.5 ) failed.
The tech manager said send me the results i try after I upgrade to 10.6.8 and he'll send the info to the engineers however....I'm not very confident in any of this.I was told to bring my MM in for a hardware repair on the BT when both the KB and n mouse work on the iMac only the KB won't pair on the MM.
personally it sounds like a software problem since i had problems getting the SL disc to attach. (and...yes after 3 calls I finally got them to send me a new one....we'll see.) anyways .I'm up to here with the whole mess and am hoping someone might have the solution to what should be a simple operation. Thanks _________________ MM 1.66ghz, CD, 1gb ram, 80gb HD, SL 10.6.8

|
|
I had bought the new Aluminum Bluetooth KB when it first
come out. It worked great. I loved it. I ended up giving it to
a friend who had bought a new Mac mini. Eventually I bought
another one. The second KB constantly lost its Bluetooth connection.
It drove me nuts. I ended up using "Lithium" AA Batteries instead
of the cheap Chinese made AA's. That worked. It hasn't dropped
a connection since.
This isn't the same as your issue but may help someone in the
future. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

Thanks Bill
I solved the mystery however it isn't a perfect case scenario. When I take my KB into the MM room it doesn't want to connect as easily as the iMac does ..but at least it does connect and pair now!!The mystery of BT and macs continues. _________________ MM 1.66ghz, CD, 1gb ram, 80gb HD, SL 10.6.8

For HOURS the apple tech only had me trying variations in the open bluetooth preference …. which gave me a few different results after I tried it on my own.Out of ideas I went to the "HELP manual!!!'.It had a solution under systems>keyboards>set up bluetooth keyboard..which I had already tried multiple times.
This time it ID'd my keyboard gave me a passkey code…and VOILA'!!!Of course when the MM doesn't want to connect because it doesn't "sense" my KB (which is every time) I have to start this process.Sometime just by opening the window it connects other times I have to use PK…I would sooner it just sensed and connected but..any alternate solutions would be appreciated _________________ MM 1.66ghz, CD, 1gb ram, 80gb HD, SL 10.6.8

Your describing my symptoms. If its easy to obtain AA
Lithium Batteries, I'd give that a try. My KB would need to
be paired over and over and over again. The Lithium
Batteries solved it. What can I say. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

No, the crash shouldn't have had anything to go with it.
When I get an eMail notification for a thread on 123Mm
its common for me to get the same "Thread doesn't exist"
page when I click on the eMailed link for a thread. Not sure
why. It happens maybe 25% of the time. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with
