hiya and thanks for your help

looking for a new and first time mac mini probably a
2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
is there an advantage to upgrade to
2.7GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7
i will mostly edit graphics / adobe / imovie etc

any suppliers offering extra awesome deals on such ?

New versions of any computer from Apple tend to stay close to retail. Their refurbs are good as new for a small savings. They ship in a different box these days, but that's the only difference.

Best way to speed up is max memory and a faster hard drive. In a mini the hard drive is a pain to swap, but doable.

Unless you get lucky with the Craigslist, the refurb store is the best option...
