Providing I want to keep the single thunderbolt port on a Mac Mini utilized for a hard drive array, what would be my options for hooking up a dual display that would allow me to take advantage of viewing different applications rather than a mirror image? I've seen the mixed reviews on the Matrox stuff, wondering if anyone has any experience with those as well.
Haven't bought the mini yet , weighing the options between the mini and the iMac.I know the iMac having TWO thunderbolt ports, makes things easier, but would rather not HAVE to use Mac displays. |

| Can't you just daisychain the display and TB drive off the same port? |

Yes! "IF" I was planning on using a Mac Thunderbolt Display. The Promise array does have a provision for that, however I'm not sure that if I come out of that port with a "Display Port" cable into a different manufacturers display, if it will cause an issue or not. There may be some "handshake" issue, especially if I was going Display Port to HDMI. Was hoping someone here experienced it and could let me know.
I probably should have been more specific in saying that I "wasn't" going to use a Mac Thunderbolt Display. |
