Considering a Mid 2010 mini.

While I certainly don't need to do it, I'm considering picking up a mid 2010 mini to replace the HTmini that I'm currently using to get a few more bits out of it, and the convenience of HDMI.

Any recommendations?

That's what I'm using for my home theater setup. Very happy with it, just make sure you upgrade the ram to at least 4GB. Beyond that, I don't think you can go wrong. The 2010 looks much more at home in a home theater than the previous models, and has the DVD player (still comes in handy occasionally) that the 2011 model lacks.

I was hoping to find a 2.66 GHz (non server) with most of the bells and whistles for around $500. From what I'm seeing on eBay, 2.4 GHz models are still going for $600, so I think I might be waiting a bit longer.

I love the ones listed as being 3 GHz!

unblowupable5, 2 GB wouldn't be good? I seem to rarely have any issues that seem to be memory dependent from the current mini.

I browsed the referb store for months
and the best deal I could find was $719.00
plus tax for the 2.66, i7 and 2 Gigs of RAM
with a 500 GB 5400 RPM HD. I upgraded
the RAM and HD when I got a chance.
That model usually was better spec'ed
and cost around 1K. You may need to wait
for the next refresh for a lower price.

I just got a 2010 2.4 Ghz from the Apple refurnished section for $469. They do come up but you have to check daily and be prepared to jump when you see one.
