I have not seen any discussion on the use of a Mac Mini with a video projector. This seems like an ideal marriage--a LCD screen isn't necessary in this case--much better than a laptop.
With a 802.11 equipped projector, you only need to bring the Mini into the same room and plug it in near an outlet...no need to put it on a table with the projector. Use a bluetooth mouse to control the presentation. Simple! |

Not sure 802.11 will work for full motion video/DVD. That's a lot of data to fit through a narrow pipe!
I hooked my mini up to a projector last weekend. My dedicated HTPC took ill in the middle of a feature. I drive a NEC LT150z at 576x1024. Couldn't figure out how to set a custom desktop in OS X, but I saw a standard setting for 1080x1920 HDTV standard. The NEC scaled that down to 576x1024 & we were able to finish the movie. Had to settle for ProLogic vice DD soundtrack, but I was very impressed with the picture quality. The DVD player that's built into OS X isn't as fully featured as TheaterTek but it let us finish the show! |
