Apple Releases Canon Printer Drivers v2.7

Apple has released Canon Printer Drivers v2.7 for Lion and Snow Leopard via their Software Update Utility and website for direct download. According to the company, this update installs the latest software for your Canon printer or scanner. More information about the supported printers and scanners can be found here. The update itself weighs in at 324.08 MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.1 or later.
It should also be noted that Apple released updated drivers for Samsung, Gestetner, Ricoh, Lanier, Infotec, and NRG printers as well today.

| For me the updated Canon drivers via Software Update came in at only about 10.5MB. Must not have been much new stuff and there were no updates posted on the Canon website. |

| Who exactly is responsible for new printer drivers anyways? Are they from Apple or indirectly from the printer manufacture? I've always sort of wondered about that one because a lot of times you don't see anything new on their sites. |
