I am using my new MM with a Logitech C110 camera/mic to talk to my Dad on his iPad 2. It works great for about 5-8 min then the audio that I hear coming from him starts crackling a little bit then gets worse till I can't make out what he is saying. The strange thing about this is that I can Facetime with him all day on my iPhone 4 with no problems. My brother can go iPad to iPad with him with no problems also, so the problem seems to be with the Mac version of Facetime that came with Lion and it does it on my MBP running Lion also. We tried Skype and found no distortion. Has anybody else had any problems with Facetime audio? _________________ Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM 500GB HD

Have you messed around any with your volume levels?
Most of my audio issues end up being complete drops that require a re-connection. I also think bandwidth comes into play at some point. I have fewer issues with video chatting with Skype and Facetime now after moving up from 3 Mbps to 6 Mbps. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

Well, I don't think its a bandwidth issue.

Hi, did you find any way to solve this facetime issue? I am glad to have found someone else who has these audio distortions. I have them almost every time i try to facetime from my macbook pro (13 inch, early 2011) to any other devices. It takes about 5-15 minutes until the distortion gets that much, that it is impossible to understand anything. I called the apple support just a few minutes ago, they have no idea what could cause these distortions.
If you know anything, please let me know. |

I haven't found anymore info. It seems to be related only to the Mac version of Facetime because the iOS versions between iPhone's and iPad's don't suffer from this problem. I have a hard time believing Apple has never heard of this problem before. Its more likely they don't have a answer yet so they are playing dumb. _________________ Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM 500GB HD

Im also searching for an answer to this problem!
Last night I had it get progressivley worse until I could hear no sound at all, not even a so much as a hiss.
The person at the other end could hear me ok so the problem was only one way. _________________ Mac Mini 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM 750GB HD |
