From the mini mac (OS X 10.7.2), I ssh -X bbl@192.168.1.9 (Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS server) where I have imagemagick (latest) and a bunch of tools I am developing.
For the first few times that I invoke X I get a nice X window on my mini mac. But after a while I always get unable to open X server 'localhost:10.0'
I have just suffered, exited, and re-ssh'ed back in for more limited X time.
Is there a trick I am missing? This problem occurs with Xemacs, Gedit as well as more serious tools like Xeyes!
Thanks, Bradshaw (K1~TE)
I hesitate to mention that it works forever under Windows 7 Ultimate with putty.exe and XMing. as I have renounced that life style. |

| my guess would be unauthorized access limitations that apple might have invoked to keep you out of applications like that. |

| But it works for about 10 minutes on a fresh ssh login. Gedit, Xeyes, Xterm all work perfectly, but after about 10 minutes any X program fails with unable to open X server 'localhost:10.0' The terminal window works fine after that, but just fails with X. |
