Apple has released the Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 Update via their Software Update Utility and website for direct download. According to the company, this update is recommended for all Mac OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac including fixes that:

- Address issues when using smart cards to log into OS X.
- Address compatibility issues with Microsoft Windows file sharing.
- Address an issue printing Microsoft Word documents that use markup.
- Address a graphics performance issue after sleep on some earlier iMacs that use ATI graphics.
- Resolve a Wi-Fi connection issue when waking from sleep.
- Address an issue that may prevent Safari from opening before joining a wireless network.
- Fix a potential issue authenticating to an SMB DFS share.
- Add Catalan, Croatian, Greek, Hebrew, Romanian, Slovak, Thai, and Ukrainian language support.
- Adds RAW image compatibility for additional digital cameras.

The Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 Update weighs in at 997 MB and requires Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2. Client Combo, Server and Server Combo versions of the software are also available.

No fixes for Mail? Wow! Shocked

It gives me more trouble than anything in Lion.

My download is actually going pretty fast. I'm just surprised by how large these updates are getting. We did shed all that PPC stuff, right?

I've been having issues with Mission Control as of late. There are times where things won't show up on other desktops and/or spaces. The option to add "+" them on the top right doesn't show up either. A restart fixes everything, but that can be a pain in the ass. So hopefully this update helps. It does appear to be working correctly at the moment.

I think they might have changed the camera icon for taking screenshots with Command + Shift + 4 + Spacebar. I could be wrong, but it doesn't look the same to me.

No problems here. It's the same old Lion. Both the good and the bad.

Install went OK here; I used the combo. Safari does seem faster. I saw a warning on using the delta if you are running Rosetta programs.

Can you actually use Rosetta in Lion? I know you can in Snow Leopard, but I thought that support was dropped in Lion.

No issues here with the update. I went with the combo update as it appears to be the safest route to go these days.

I don't know, but stay away from Security Update 2012-001 if you're still using Snow Leopard. It supposedly has a bug that totally kills Rosetta and PPC applications.

I installed the Snow Leopard Security Update and it did indeed kill one of my old PPC apps, MailWatch. Constant crashes when I try to launch.

I still use Quicken 2006, PPC, and that still operates normally so apparently the PPC kill is selective. Hope it stays that way.

How is this related to the OS X 10.7.3 update?

Snow Leopard is 10.6

Are we discussing entirely different updates?
