|
|
so, ive been reading alot about people putting 16gb of memory in their mac minis. i have a 2010 mac mini, bought in november 2010, i believe its the one right before the 2011 models. 2.4 intel core 2 duo. 4gb 1067mhz ddr3 ram. if this is at all possible, id love to get 16gb in my mac mini, cause that would give me tons of headroom with logic, and all the plug ins i use.
can anyone help me?
thanks in advance

| Doesn't look good. The 2010 won't take the faster 1333 memory (boot & lock-up issues) and I haven't seen slower 8GB sticks for sale. |

I didn't see that memory before. I don't think that anyone has tried it so you would be the first. See what the return policy is.
Looking at spec sheets the mobile C2D has enough address lines to go to 32GB. I haven't found details on the NVIDIA controller though. |

You can download MacTracker from the app store...
Anyway it states 8.0 GB for the 2010. Can't really go with that as MacTracker used to say 8g for the 2011 before OWC proved 16 would work. |

I would be stunned if it works. your cpu does not spec for 16gb ram I will find a link.
also the 2010 2.4 mac mini is the worst mac mini that uses an intel cpu when it come to ram.. it is so fffff'ing picky it is why I hate to upgrade it. I have had 6 or 7 different types of ram not work in it.
I am sorry i missed your post . I would have begged you not to buy the ram.

they say 8gb and believe me they like selling ram
