I have a new mac mini. I am also new to the mac OS.
1)I have downloaded a temperature monitor. I'm embarrassed to
say, that even tho' it is installed, I can't find an 'about' feature
to remind me what I have downloaded. I do note that when it loads,
it tells me that it can't guarantee accuracy or something to that
effect. The label on the service as installed on the toolbar is AMBIE
Can someone recommend a temp monitor for the 2011 mac mini?
2)Just to share - I have noted that the warmest part of the mini
is the bottom. I have the mini now sitting on four rubber stoppers
that I fastened to the shelf below and therefore there is about 1.25 inches
of clearance underneath it.
thanks and TIA

Best one in my opinion is iStats Menu.
http://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/
which does a lot more besides just temp monitoring. _________________ Phil

Well, I've been running istatmenu for a day now. I would like to
offer the readings that I am getting and would welcome comments
as how they look or should look. Note, 8 Gb RAM upgrade
Numbers in degrees as read from menu:
Airport Card 91
Ambient 91
Ambient 2 97
CPU 1 108
CPU A 104
CPU Proximity 104
Mem Bank A1 109
Mem Module A1
Mem Module B4 122
Power Supply 1 93
Hard Drive 81
Any comments are welcome.
URLs to temperature ranges and discussions thereof,
also welcome.
TIA

It looks frighteningly normal much like the rest of our 2011 minis! Nothing to concerned about, again like the rest of our minis...Enjoy your computer! _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint
