Where is the backup operating system in my new mini?

I purchase a mac mini and I interesting to made a cd or a pen drive back-up of this but I don't see the files anyplace in my mac. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
2GB memory
500GB hard drive1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
OS X Lion
