Apple Holding iPhone Media Event on October 4th
Tuesday, September 27, 2011
Posted by: Staff
Well, it's on! Apple sent out invitations today for a special iPhone media event to be held on Tuesday, October 4th at the company's Town Hall auditorium at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. The invitations for the event simply read, "Let's talk iPhone."

| I'm honestly not that excited about the new iPhone. I think that an iPhone 4 running iOS 5 is more than enough for me. It would take some kind of tremendous increase in battery life or something for me to upgrade. A better camera and dual-core processor, while great, isn't really enough. |

I think the iPhone 5 will mainly appeal to iPhone 3 owners at the end of a contract. Sure, everyone on the planet will want an iPhone 5, but iPhone 4 owners should still be content for a couple more years. |

Will it even be an iPhone 5 or will they just bump the iPhone 4 into an iPhone 4S
I'm after a new phone so I'm happy for a new one, if its great I might buy one. If its not I might grab a bargain on an iPhone 4
Win - Win sounds good to me. _________________ Phil

Agreed. I'm gonna run with my iPhone4 for a while but, the old lady will be replacing her iPhone 3G when it hits.
Figures, she always gets the nice stuff first.... _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

- Four icons for the 4th.
- Calendar icon set to the event date.
- Clock icon set to event start time
- Maps icon showing Infinite Loop.
- Phone icon with one message.
That's pretty clever. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

| Apple should just call it the iPhone 5. The iPhone 4Gs thing is kinda lame if you ask me. I never really liked it with the iPhone 3Gs. Plus, iPhone 5 goes along better with iOS 5 on the product timeline. |

I'm not interested in buying a new iPhone, but I can't wait to get iOS 5 up and running on my iPad. Here's hoping the release date comes sooner rather than later though. I have a sneaky feeling it won't be tomorrow. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

| Apple better knock it out of the park cause the Samsung Galaxy S2 is calling me more than any other Android phone ever has before. Heck, the screen alone makes me want to switch. |

I like that. It's been a while too since we've had a really good "one more thing" announcement. Then again, the "one more thing" thing always makes me think about waiting for the G5 Powerbook. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Each one of these Events seems to be getting duller and duller than the last, 50 minutes of waffle at the beginning I almost fell to sleep.
I've been thinking of getting an iPhone for awhile now and decided to hold out for the iPhone 5 launch.. which has now turned into what I expected an iPhone 4 bump to a 4s.
I've never had an iPhone before but I might see if I can try and snag an iPhone 4 32Gb before they stop selling them, if not I'll look at whats on offer for the 4GS 32GB. 18 month and 24 month contracts scare me though which is why I bought an iPod touch the last time I looked at buying an iPhone. _________________ Phil

All that sales information and going through the store stuff is becoming very, very, very boring at the beginning. They should just skip past that stuff and leave it to the conference calls.
I just think Apple has set the bar so high over the last couple years. It's becoming so hard to live up to expectations these days. Then take the absence of Steve Jobs. That doesn't help matters either. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
