Hi guys I just got my Mac mini week ago and would like to put in SSD as my main drive and the drive i have in my mac mini now as a secondary drive.
So when i finish the install of the SSD i boot the mac mini up and it should boot to the Regular hard drive and open up SuperDuper and Copy Macintosh HD to SSD drive should be on the list, and then using section i pick backup-all files right? and after i could just use Disk utility to format the old hard drive.
This the correct way to clone my files on the old hard drive in my mac min to the new SSD drive?? |

I would say if you had an older 2009 mini that would work. these newer 2011 minis can be tricky. I would own this unit or something like it.

I would put the ssd in it. i would format the ssd I would clone the internal to it. I would open system preferences and select startup disc and you should see 2 choice the oem and the clone on the ssd.. I would boot the ssd and run it a bit. If it works okay I would put it in the mini. I would boot again the mini would come up working and I would leave the osx on both drives .. I would use system preferences to pick the ssd as my boot drive. having the oem in the mini with a good osx would not be a bad idea it would allow instant recovery if the ssd fails. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram
