If you have a wired apple keyboard it has 2 usb ports on it.
A second question is do you have usb devices that need a lot of power. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

I have a wireless keyboard but with a adapter connected in the usb. My plans is to connect an external HD for a MAC back-up (with the power be in the USB and not external power), this could e 750GB because my machine is a 500GB. I already purchase a Bluetooth mouse in e-bay and wait for it and I'm looking for a MAC keyboard Bluetooth in e-bay. With this configuration that I'm planing, I will have 3 usb free but for now, all the port is occupied, that is why I'm looking for a extra ports.
Thanks Bandit, I will check that one. |

I have a Toshiba 4 port hub, and a Macally 7 port TriHub. I suspect they are built by the same company. I believe the 7 port hub has to be powered by the AC adapter, but the 4 port hub can be bus powered.

runnibg a 500gb or a 750gb 2.5 inch hdd can be done but I advise using a powered usb port. the hdd would use most of the juice on a none powered 4 port hub _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

I've used one of these D-Link 7 Port USB Hub for years. I bought the original back in my PC days and when it developed a fault I bought another one which has been running now for over three years and gets a lot of use. _________________ Phil

Depends on your use.
And your company choices...
I can recommend several usb hubs but considering you might want one that is powered you might want to spend more then 10.00 for one.
Belkin makes one that's 25.00 that target sells it's powered and works with macintosh computers no problem. Downside it's ugly as all get out. |
