Hi guys. I'm a total noob at Macs so I was fortunate to find this forum for information. I'm seriously thinking of purchasing a Mac Mini in hopes of doing some minor video editing using a camera mounted on my motorcycle. I don't want to recreate Gone With the Wind or anything, but would like to post some YouTube vids with some text and transitions in them. Nothing major...
So I am looking at the Mini. Should I be, or am I barking up the wrong tree? Money is an issue so keep that in mind when replying if you could.
Will the "budget" (2.3) Mini handle this task or should I be looking at the 2.5?
I've always been a PC guy. Moving to a Mac is sort of exciting. Is that weird? LOL |

Yes. A Core i3 will be able to handle it.

the base mac mini is a 2.3 is a i5 and as long as you add 4gb or 8gb ram it is a good machine. I would tell you get 8gb ram. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

I completely agree here. I purchased the i7 last July, which is a step up from where you are looking. With the stock 4 gigs of ram it was plenty quick, until I hooked up the second screen and really started to work the little beast. I would get spinning beach balls that weren't awful rather a tad annoying on a brand new computer.
Ram is cheap, save some money, buy and install it yourself. With these mini's it really is dead simple.
And welcome! The mini is a shweet piece of hardware. _________________ ~Drake
