Ok i have lion server fully up and running no issues...

Or so i thought.

I noticed something stupid very stupid.

I go into the server app and i can configure the server to work as a mail server when people are using the server as a mail server the mail app get's e-mail headers for known garbage mail from a online source.

However the server administrator that is accessing there mail from the server has no access to this option which sucks because it would greatly improve the mail function in removing spam e-mail considering that the e-mail junk filter doesn't work worth a darn

Do you still use Mail.app to access the mail on the server ?

If so, then how is it different from a remote user connecting to the server

when a remote user connects to the server the mail app goes through a web site that screens for junk mail headers and deletes them before they make it to your e-mail account.

Where if your the server administrator it doesnt

The lion server admin app doesn't work in server it says that the server admin app is not designed for mac os x lion server but it installed the application from the server admin tools that comes with lion what a weird thing

Is this the remote user connecting via web mail or via mail.app ?

How is mail app on the server setup compared to the remote users who collect from the server ?

I understand it's using the Mail Server on lion, but what clients are you using to connect to the server, both on the remote machines and on the server ?

I'm pretty sure macmanmacman was drunk.

His typing is incoherent at best, and if I'm understanding what he's trying to say (and frankly, i'm not sure i am) i can't duplicate what he is seeing on my server install.

go into server.app

See how the e-mail server allows you to go through a web site to remove known junk mail headers.

Well this only works if the macintosh is connecting to a server as a mail client server.

It doesn't work for the server administrator when they are accessing there mail from the server itself it only works for clients on the server.

I've never seen the server I'm just running Snow Leopard so I can't see what you mean.

I just would have thought the admin account would use mail.app as it's mail client and connect to the server the same as all the other clients.
