For your consideration I have one MINT Set of APPLE Restore Discs (OSX 10.5 Leopard). I believe these are for a MacBook [Late 2007] N.B. Buyer solely responsible for determining suitability. Part Number First DVD: 2Z691-6150A and the Second DVD Part Number is: 2Z691-6175-A.

| Just for the benefit of others in the future, you are not allow to sell OEM system disks. It clearly indicates so on the disk label. |

It is permitted as long as qualifying hardware goes along with the purchase e.g., http://www.welovemacs.com/2z6916150a.html

If the Logic Board goes on his Mac why can't he sell his discs?
Sell YOUR discs & remove the tag on your mattress, live on the edge

If the logic board went on the Mac a person could sell the faulty Mac and the discs together. It's clearly written on the disc "This software is part of a hardware bundle purchase - no to be sold separately". Now that doesn't mean that the new owner can do with them as they please. They were licensed to that system.
I deal with this stuff on a daily basis as an Apple authorized reseller. We order system disk on a daily basis. We deal with trade ins etc. Most people forget/don't bring their disks in with the trade.
I'm not the Apple police, but I am aware of Apple licensing. I'm here for respectful discussion, even if we don't agree with one another. |

Hi Bill,
"They could sell the falty mac & the Disc". I think eBay had a thing where you could sell a windows OS if you inclued a USB cable. Now eBay is selling OS of both.
Its like "the family pack for SL" Only in a household. i had a long talk with
Apple & there were too many loose ends in that one.
Anyway, congratulations on you becoming an Apple product professional, I like the pin  Good Luck!

Thanks, I've actually moved up to the next level now. Apple Sales Professional. I'm not sure what they will send me this time . It's kind of funny, Apple Product Professional sounds like a higher designation.
OEM licensing is a funny thing. There is more to it than just selling a piece of hardware. The person selling the OEM license is then obligated to provide product support. We sell Windows OEM licenses with new Macs (Windows 7 Professional) $199 vs. the $330 for the retail box (you still get a box and disk with the OEM version, it's just not a pretty retail box). We've had customers contact MicroSoft for product support and M$ directs them right back to us. We MUST provide support.
What products qualify a buyer to an OEM license is indeed a grey area. I've been told it must be an essential item ie. a hard drive, RAM etc. but then I know people who have sold mice etc. This is something that I've never seen in writing, so I avoid going there. I only sell OEM Windows licenses with new system sales. I really don't want to be stuck supporting Windows anyhow. |
