I've used unlocked GSM cell phones with Cingular for
over a decade. Then Cingular was bought out by one
of the baby (oxymoron) Bell's....AT&T. Well sadly AT&T
is run by a bunch of lying, cheating, thieves. So I simply
dumped AT&T and signed on with T-Mobile. Now that
AT&T is buying T-Mobile I'll be dumping T-Mobile.
Does anyone use a Verizon phone? Does anyone
have a Verizon iPhone? Should I use this occasion
to get and iPhone from Verizon? What's the cheapest
plan etc.? My current plan expires in three months.
Thanks for any insight. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

I have a work-provided Verizon iPhone. The coverage in my area is night and day compared to AT&T. I get great service pretty much anywhere I frequent...that was definitely not the case with AT&T as well as T-Mobile (my two previous carriers) _________________ -=iMav=-

Here on "The Rock" T-Mobile has better coverage
than AT&T/Cingular so when I jumped ship and went
with T-Mobile the reception, service, everything was
an improvement.
I'm just wondering if the added expense will be worth
it to get an iPhone. Right now I pay around $100.00 a
year, but no internet. I don't think I'll use the internet
unless I have to evacuate do to bad weather. Then I
would just retrieve my eMail.
Maybe a prepaid Smart Phone with Wi-Fi would be a
more economical alternative.
Anyone have a Smart Phone with Wi-Fi they like? _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

I've got my iPhone 4 with Verizon, got it right before the unlimited data plan got replaced. I love it, haven't had a minutes problem with it, no coverage issues. Had a customer come in while I was chatting about my iPhone and he chimed in that he had one, he was going to show me something but didn't have signal. AT&T? Yup! I had 3 bars inside a steel building, he had one bar if he went out in the parking lot. I have a friend with the same coverages issues with his AT&T 3GS.
$70 +fees a month, talk text & web. I stream Pandora on my way to work & home through my MotoRokr T505, another awesome piece of hardware & I've used .25gb of data in 15 days. I think the current plan is limited to 2gb data/mo. which should be reasonable for most folks if you don't tether. Wife has a Motorola Droid2, I despise that thing. |

| I've got one. Coverage is good for voice. 3G is spotty and slower than my friend's AT&T iPhone. |

Coverage depends where you are, mt hometown only had reliable Verizon signal starting a few years ago, go out into south central Missouri and no one gets any real coverage away from I-44. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

It's true, it depends on the location. In some areas Verizon is really great while there are locations wherein it's just unbearable. Verizon is currently offering an amazing price of $ 99.99 for an 8-gig iPhone 4. Quite affordable but 8-gig for us is also unbearable these days, right?

Apple iPhone 4S (Verizon Wireless)
Pros: Speedy dual-core A5 processor; Siri is smart; Fast bright and sharp camera; iCloud baked in; Best arsenal of apps; Good voice quality
Cons: Lacks 4G data speeds; Display relatively small
The Verdict: Despite the familiar design, the iPhone 4S boats an appreciably faster dual-core processor, a first-class camera, and a truly innovative voice-controlled assistant. _________________ iphone 5 case |
