I'm really annoyed constantly by the Apple keyboard. It isn't the fault of the keyboard. It is the way I hold it on my lap to type. Since it doesn't have any place for my hands to rest on the base of it, sometimes my hand pushes the space bar or another bottom button while typing a different letter. When this happens all sorts of weird characters show up.
I switched to my HP keyboard that has the usual stuff plus some audio controls for volume and mute. It also has some play, back, forward, and stop media controls.
How can I find drivers to plug into the Mac so that the keys all do as they are labeled? The audio controls don't light up or function at all. Many function keys just don't do anything that I can observe. Three of them do expose.
I really like the scooped out keys of the HP keyboard. It does take a bit more effort to press each key. I would prefer a lighter touch. That can't be fixed.
Is there a software program that will let me map the keys, the functions, the special functions, and the dedicated audio control buttons? I don't even know what the Apple function buttons do. I don't use them.
