| How does Spotify make money? They say they want to combat piracy. How are the artists compensated? |

Spotify makes money from advertising and their $5 and $10 subscription plans. The artists don't make much, it's more of a promotion and radio play type thing. In fact, they only make like $1200 every 4 million streams. I'm sure the record labels do okay though. They supposedly have deals in place with Spotify.
