Apple has released Java updates for Snow Leopard and Leopard via their Software Update Utility and website for direct download. According to the company, the Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 5 delivers improved compatibility, security, and reliability by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_26. The update weighs in at 74.45MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.4 or later.

The Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 10 also delivers improved compatibility, security, and reliability by updating J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_30, and updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_26 for 64-bit capable Intel-based Macs. This update weighs in at 120.33MB and requires Mac OS X 10.5.8.

After the update, Java only works on Safari, not Firefox 5 or Chrome...
