| I HAVE A MAC MINI G4 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM & 100 GIG HD I WANT TO UPGRADE TO LEOPARD IS THERE ANY WAY TO DO THIS! AND ONE MORE THING WHY CANT I GET ON YOUTUBE? EVERY TIME I GET ON YOUTUBE MY MAC MINI FAN GOES CRAZY AND MY MINI SHUTS OFF. THIS IS MY FIRST MAC PLEASE HELP THANKS! |

you have the lowest powered mini also the oldest. How much did you pay? try setting youtube on the worst video setting _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

It just might help to open your mini up, and carefully clean and blow about 5 years worth of dust and whatnot out of it.
Compressed air works well, canned air is better then nothing.
This will probably improve the cooling, it sounds like your system is overheating, hence the shutdown which is built into the mini for protection. |

or a bad memory upgrade..
apple memory doesn't cause fan issues.
cheap junk ibm memory will cause that machines fan to run fast then shut off and fail i had a emac g4 did the same thing i thought crud my machine died i replaced the sdram and no problems. |

I too, have one of these. I've had it since new and it works well, but I need to upgrade the OS. Is this possible?

Yes. You need to go to eBay and find the retail version of 10.4 or 10.5. You can not use the versions that were supplied with the computers unless it is for a PowerPC mini.
