Apple Releases Security Update 2011-003 for MacDefender

Apple has released Security Update 2011-003 for Snow Leopard via their Software Update utility and website for direct download. According to the company, this update is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X. It specifically addresses issues related to the MacDefender malware and will assist in its removal. Security Update 2011-003 for Snow Leopard weighs in at 2.36MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.7 or later.

| I don't know of anyone that was actually infected or whatever with MacDefender, but I'm glad Apple got something out right away. I guess this also lays the groundwork to protect us from future malware issues. I mean, if it's going out and looking for updates. Am I wrong? |

I know lots of people that have been effected by MacDefender. This is a welcome security update. |

I found it on my friends Mini, but it was easy to remove, I just had to delete it out of the start up items and reboot. Hey, at least it's not conficker. _________________ Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM 500GB HD
