video editing software

I have a 2010 mac mini and I am wondering what is a good video editing suite . I have used Adobe premier elements and Pinnacle for the pc.

It should have come with iMovie installed already which is part of the iLife suite and bundled with all new Macs.

Also have a look at Final Cut Express or Pro if you want something a bit more than iMovie offers.


If you haven't got iMovie, you can grab iLife 11 for $49 (includes iMovie, Garageband, iPhoto etc)
Final Cut Express is $199 and Pro (studio) is $999 (ouch)

Thanks I will check it out I think I have I-movie. Have you used the other two editing software? Some times I do a quick edit and some times I like to do color correcting or time warping.

I've only used iMovie a couple of times, I've never reallly done much video editing and I've never used the others.

I have use Pinnacle in the past and iMovie is comparable.

Final Cut Pro is what the pro's use so it's probably way over what we would need for home movies etc Final Cut Express might be worth a look though if you do a lot of movie editing.

I will have to go to the apple store to see if the express will work on the mini
