Just wondering if by having my MM 2009 2.0 connected via Ethernet as well as having wireless turned on (Draytek 8220vn) increases data speed or will the fastest one take the lead so to speak.
Am I correct in thinking that in System Prefs the top listed connection is the one that has preference?

| I would assume it would use the Ethernet. I would also turn off the wireless to save power, albeit only a small amount. You could also use the wireless to bridge another device on your Ethernet if you wanted/needed to. |

I find on mine it tends to slows things down if the wireless is on at the same time.
The wireless always seems to be picked as the primary connection, even though I have Ethernet set above it in system preferences. As the wireless connection in my house is much slower than the gigabit ethernet connection I tend to turn off wireless to allow the Ethernet to be used. _________________ Phil

Advice and thoughts appreciated. I am staying with Ethernet connection as it is totally stable and as my place is wired throughout I should make the best use of it. Luckily I can see the telephone exchange from my window and my speeds just touch 7.4mb for BB.
I use my Ethernet connection throughout for my Hp Proliant server which has all my back ups and my music collection. I think WiFi for friends visiting, is the order of the day and my one iPod 3rd Gen on B/G but not N.
