Apogee has announced the release of JAM, a studio quality guitar input for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Mac. According to the company, the plug-and-play device features PureDIGITAL technology and enables musicians to "practice, record and rock out" using the guitar amps and effects in Apple's GarageBand software for the iPad and Mac OS X. Jam from Apogee will be going on sale later this month for $99.

What a great time for mobile music making!
Musicians also have the choice of the iRig, which is already available, and at a much friendlier pricepoint.
The iRig is compatible with all iOS recording apps, and should be compatible with the new iPad 2 and Garageband.
Look for the iRig Mic and VocaLive coming in the near future from us, too.
