I've used G-Technology ext drives for a while, this is the 2nd one that has failed over the recent years. It's a 500gb regular sized G-Drive. I have some of the Mini Gs too.
It's out of warranty, it just clicks when I'm trying to access it. Disk Utility said it could not be repaired.
what are my options, most data was backed up on other drives but there are some home movies I do not want to have to recopy off of DVDs.
Is the aluminum case worth putting a new drive in it?
Is G-Technology a reputable brand?
Are there other external firewire drives makes that are more dependable?
Do all external drives fail after a while?
thanks. |

THanks, I'm familiar with the Thermaltake from your previous posts.
With the cases and drives do you need other components? I see 'cards' not included.
I'd be interested in the Thermaltake, $18 beats their price (about 20).
and these can be handy when setting up new Macs, etc.
PM me details on how to send you the $. I have Paypal. |
