Ok let me explain my issue.
I had a Lampie imac take a power supply dirt nap.
so i purchased a new apple computer. well new used only had 40 hours on it mac i should say.
I purchased a Xserve i couldn't pass up on the deal 180.00 for a xserve these are the specs.
Xserve
powerpc g5 2.0 single processor
4 gig's of ram
80 gig hard drive (i know the max hard drive size is 180 gigs on the xserves)
a unlimited license of both 10.5 and 10.4 server
my issue is no onboard sound.
i have heard there are usb sound devices that work on mac's i have no idea where to start looking ???
Now i have a question i have seen project osx86 now i have no means to rip off apple and build a hackintosh that costs three times as much as a mac i was thinking of using there 3rd party drivers to install a Ibm sound card in a mac because this machine has a free pci slot has anyone seen this page
http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/3rdPartyDrivers
now i know these are open source keytext files for using diffrent sound cards should i try these first??? they all still contain there powerpc code inside the keytext....
any idea's |

No.......macmanmacman, thats a USB Sound card.
Plug it into your Xserve's USB port and it should be
recognized without need of drivers. That Behringer
has an optical out as well as stereo RCA jacks and
1/8 inch for headphones. Their are several USB
Sound cards and Firewire Sound cards as well that
are similar. Roland makes a copy of that Behringer
to. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

Please let us know how it works
plus the make and model etc. I'm
not familiar with a 7.1 model.
Also, how about a link for your Sound
Card at Amazon.
Thanks. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with
