Good day--- well maybe for you. =)

OK first up that's what I'm trying to do (Sharing across accounts.) as described on page 488 of David Pogues very fine book Snow Leopard the missing manual. But clearly I am missing something. I'm a quick study but a slow learner

I've set up another account which also has Admin status. Fast switching is on and when triggered up pops the virgin screen.

Click iPhoto on the dock the app opens but of course all the photo's available on the initial account are not available until 'something' is moved to the 'share folder' from somewhere.

And that's where I'm hitting the wall.

Exactly what am I looking for and where do I find it? Can I find whatever as the Admin of the new account or should I be the original admin….but still is the - where and how.

I'm seriously hoping I'm missing something very very obvious but for the moment I must stop driving me'ed into this rusty railway spike.

I'll appreciate some help there.

I have another issue relating to the new user but likely is better suited for a new thread which I'll call 'Spaces' Have to break them up so I don't completely confuse myself.

Slackjaw - is running. -_Q

And by-the-way for those like me who are new to the Mac the book, I mentioned is worth the investment even tho' this specif issue may not be as illustrative as possible.

From your Primary Account:
1st. Left Click in and open spot on your Desktop.
2nd. In your Menu Bar at the top of your Desktop, click "GO"
3rd. Choose "HOME" in the Drop down Menu
4th. In the window that opens double click your "Public" folder

Everything you drag into your "Public" folder should be available
to your second Account, you just can't change or delete anything
in it from your second Account. Then their should be a "Drop Box"
folder inside your "Public" folder. Your second Account should be able
to share whatever is inside of the "Drop Box" folder with your original
Account.

If I remember correctly, thats how it worked for me.
I can no longer test it, I've since deleted my Second
Account........SORRY.
I hope it works for you. Please let us know if that was it!

Thanks BillB
I've given up on it for now.

I managed to get a shared account running but the 166ghz started to bog down too much for my liking. I deleted the account but that presented even more problems. =)

The iphoto library disappeared. I managed to find the images but iPhoto is now screwed. The thumbnails associated with Events are gone. The images inside each Event are there but no key photo thumbnail.

Drove myself nuts trying to figure out what was going on. Turns out it's an iPhoto bug and I am not alone.

So I'm a sit and wait mode for now. Here's a link to similar woes.

Picasa for Mac from Google might
be something you should look at.
I use it a lot more than iPhoto.
This should hold you till that
iPhoto bug works itself out.
BTW, my friend had that bug
and she reinstalled iPhoto from
one of her clones and she's back
to using iPhoto but was using
Picasa in the interim.
