tony just to be sure I hooked one up. I have a 2tb 3.5 inch hitachi in it with 3 partitions and i have a 500gb 2.5 inch seagate in it (yes those seagates the ones I curse) with 1 partition. i hooked the unit up via usb and I am making a superduper clone of the 300gb partition on the 3.5 inch to the 2.5 inch seagate. so via usb it works fine. clones slow but that is to be expected around 17MB/s.
if you use esata and want two drives to work your esata must be port multiplier type such as this
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/MXPCIE6GS2/
you could even hook up a raid0 or raid1 to the unit if you had the above pcie card in a pci e slot on a mac pro _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram

Philip, I'm looking at these cards... but that description says:
| Quote: | NewerTech MAXPower eSATA 6G PCIe 2.0 Controller Card
.......(NOTE: does not support port multiplier cases/enclosures.)..... |
Do you have one that DOES eSATA port multiply? _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray |

I am a moron wrong link
here is the right link
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/MXPCIE6GRS/
one of these cards and two of the thermaltakes will allow up to an 8tb raid0 set up with 4 2tb drives.
what is also nice is you can run it as JBOD disks stand alone. _________________ 2010 Mm 2.4 C2D oem 320gb hdd 8gb ram
