I've just hooked up a my new mac mini to my new LG HDTV (the LX9500) and downloaded the Kylo web browser. Lg includes a "magic wand" remote which most reviewers call a gimmick, which it is but only because most menus will say to "please use the conventional remote" (so its ~useless and therefore indeed a gimmick) but it actually works quite well as far as controlling the onscreen cursor. This remote is made by the same company that makes the Loop remote intended for the Kylo web browser, which I understand can control a mac hooked up to a TV.
Does anyone know if there is some way to use my "magic wand" to control my mac mini HDTV, eg if I got the Kylo Loop's USB RF dongle plus used some type of Remote Buddy-like remote remapping software? Any LG TV owners ever try to repurpose this remote? |
