Well while on a youtube exploration one of the videos had an advertisement, the Toyota one about the hybrid synergy drive and how it could make a roller coaster power a whole amusement park! Well that's fantastic in theory, but not even plausible in theory as well, all it could do is curb the energy input required and even then you would have to do some energy management overhead that only further reduces the benefits. Does anyone else get annoyed by commercials like this that are scientifically impossible?

I sure do! However, maybe they meant a really, really, really small amusement park!
On a minor tangent, the Washington state supreme court said it was ok for politicians to lie in their advertising(mud slinging) because that is protected by freedom of speech!

Well that's certainly a win, freedom a slander is what they meant by speech right?
Now I have to wonder if they allow explicit lies or implied lies, the difference being some sort of truth (no matter how horribly twisted and messed up) is the basis of an implied lie.

I find most things shown to the public about energy conservation to be annoying. Hybrid cars get better gas milage than regular cars. <-Period
Fully electric cars are advertised as God's gift to green solutions. Except for the fact that when you plug it in, it's getting its energy from some other resource (oil, gas, nuclear). They seem to think by making it sound magical, it somehow is.

Shhh, we don't want the US to actually look at alternative energy now do we? Besides there are no absolutely reliable renewable energy sources really, we would have to rely on fossil fuels at some point, just rely on less of them is the idea.
