Hello,
I'm a rookie when it comes to computers and streaming videos so please excuse my ignorance.
I really enjoy documentaries and various videos from Deutsche Welle,
( German Television ), Link TV ( Middle East News ), and basically any type of informative web site videos. I'd like to be able to watch them on my HDTV in the living room. I have a Macbook that I use as my main
(and only ) computer in my den to mostly watch videos and for email.
I've done some research and it seems that no media streaming device such as the Boxee Box, Apple TV, Roku, WD Live , etc will do what I want.
The only device that comes close is the Logitech Revue with Google TV.
But even that has it's flaws. I'd need a cable box ( I don't have one---just a coaxial cable with basic cable service, connected directly to my
TV ) which is an extra $15.00/month. Also, I believe that not ALL websites are accessible via Google TV. Some TV stations are blocked as well as Hulu.
So, I'd like to know if I purchased the $699.00 Mac Mini, a wireless Apple keyboard and a wireless mouse, could I just plug the Mini into my HDTV ( and AVR receiver ) via HDMI cable and use the keyboard to get to the websites I'd like to watch? Is it that simple? Would I get full screen coverage on the TV? Oh yeah, I'd have the Mini connected to an N router via ethernet cable.
And would my iTunes on my Macbook sync with the Mini?
Thanks, Michael K. |

I can't help you, sorry.
You may do better if you post your request
in the "Mac mini HTPC" forum. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

Yes, it would, for the most part, be that simple.
Getting the mini to play nice with your AV system would be the hard part.
