OWC Posts Videos on Upgrading 2010 Mac minis
Saturday, December 11, 2010

OWC brings word on posting a new series of videos on how to upgrade the memory in both the 2010 Mac mini and 2010 Mac mini Server. They also have a new video on how to upgrade both hard drives in the 2010 Mac mini Server. And according to the company, they are posting another video early next week on how to upgrade the single hard drive in the 2010 Mac mini. So check them out if you are interested. As always, OWC does a nice job of walking you through the upgrade process.

I'll be most interested in the one coming soon. I tried the new mini in a Future Shop store last week and was surprised how fast it seemed even with the stock drive. This might be the impetus I need to buy a new one. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

If you had any questions about "the difficulty" of upgrading the memory in the new models, the video should certainly put you at ease.
If you have enough skill to open a jar of jam, you have the skill set. |

| I've never really seen anyone upgrade the hd. It looks like a bitch in comparison to the older mini. |

It does look rather difficult in comparison to the older minis, but with a video like this you should be able to do it if you are careful and have the proper tools.
It's definitely not a job for an impatient person. |

I hate pulling and pressing small connectors like that off and on the motherboard. It can be a recipe for disaster if you don't take your time. I mean, as far as bending pins and stuff. It doesn't really look hard otherwise. The video looks to have it all covered. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini
