Tom - yes that sound like about what was being described to me by ATT, you put it in words better than me though. The charge was because the router that I'm using is not one of theirs. Anyway it's fixed now.
I just went into my router screen and got it to create new WEP keys, it assigned 4. I then went and updated the info on my Mini. I "locked" the info at the network settings screen. btw, if you are in the network settings screen, pressing "advances" shows that the security for my network is WEP password protected. However, when I look in the airport icon above my browser there is still not padlock beside MY network, but on the other 2 or 3 in the neighborhood there is. I did a little search and some folks claim that when you are connected to YOUR own network that it will not have a padlock symbol (not sure if it's only with WEP or what) but the others will if they are set up that way. So if that's the case then no worries, I am protected. |

I found that WPA2 is complicated on several devices (like my iPod Touch, my windows xp laptop).
I usually go for WPA- Personal Shared Key. WPA is not as secure as WPA2, but it is still way more secure than WEP.
And you still need access to a supercomputer to break a WPA encryption. |

Just FYI: I use WPA2-PSK without problems on my iPod Touch and Windows XP laptop. (Netgear DG834G router.) _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray |
