I am looking to get TV Tuner to hook up to my Mac mini (2009). I am looking at the Elgato EyeTV 250 Plus. However, I see so many TV Tuner choices from Elgato, I am not sure if the EyeTV 250 Plus is the only one that I should be looking at. I would appreciate some input from others. My provider is Cablevision, if that helps.
I looked into Equinux TV Tuners, however, I feel they are dated. Could I be wrong? _________________ Regards,

from their web site for some time. I picked up one from J&R World
on sale. Can't speak to Equinux or Cablevision's compatibility.
My 250's (I have two) are hooked up to my local analog cable
system (Cox) and work fine.
The cheapest 250 Plus right now is Amazon and onSale.
As far as what model two get, I have two 250 Plus's,
two Hybrids and several other brands that are compatible
with EyeTV's software. You noticed I use two Plus's.
If you get one or more tuners other than the 250 Plus's
you won't be able to do much else with your mini. The
250 Plus's do some of the work and all of the
others off load most of the work to your mini's processor.
If your just going to watch TV then save some money.
If you want to multi task then get a 250 Plus while you
still can. _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with
