|
|
I just bought a new Mac Mini (most recent model, 270LL/A) and the disc loading mechanism seems kinda screwy to me. You have to push the disc in REALLY far for it to be pulled in, unlike any other slot load drive I've dealt with. But I'm new to Macs, so I'm not sure if this is typical for a Mac Mini. And I did a few Google searches but wasn't able to find an answer.
So, would one of you Mac guys mind checking this out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEwIm5wMDs8) and letting me know if this is normal? Thanks!! |

Hi - on my 2009 mini (white plastic top) I don't have to push the disc in QUITE as far as yours to start the auto-close mechanism, but it's certainly MORE than halfway in - the disc hole has completely disappeared BEFORE it grabs it.
I suspect there's nothing wrong with your drive! _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray |

@OP
I have a late-2009 Mac Mini and Macbook Pro, and they are both like that. They are the only macs I've ever owned so I don't think I could classify "normal", but both my Macs, bought at seperate times, are like that.
It hasn't caused a problem for me yet. |

I have to push my CDs / DVDs in 8 or 9 times for them to accepted.
Not sure whether to take it back, or just put up with it _________________ Iphone 4 16GB

Now THAT, redcard, I would take straight back, if it's still under warranty! _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray |
