Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.6.5 Update

Apple has released the Mac OS X 10.6.5 Update via their Software Update utility and website. According to the company, this update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac. So here's a complete list of what's new and improved

- Improves reliability with Microsoft Exchange servers.
- Addresses performance of some image-processing operations in iPhoto and Aperture.
- Addresses stability and performance of graphics applications and games.
- Resolves a delay between print jobs.
- Addresses a printing issue for some HP printers connected to an AirPort Extreme.
- Resolves an issue when dragging contacts from Address Book to iCal.
- Addresses an issue in which dragging an item from a stack causes the Dock to not automatically hide.
- Resolves an issue in which Wikipedia information may not display correctly in Dictionary.
- Improves performance of MainStage on certain Macs.
- Resolves spacing issues with OpenType fonts.
- Improves reliability with some Bluetooth braille displays.
- Resolves a VoiceOver issue when browsing some websites with Safari 5.
- Improves Bluetooth pairing with Magic Trackpad.
- Resolves performance issues with third-party displays that use InstaPort technology.
- Add SSL support for transferring files with iDisk.
- Resolves an issue when opening 4-up Photo Booth pictures in Preview.
- Addresses keyboard responsiveness issues in the Dock when Spaces is turned on.
- Resolves an issue syncing Address Book with Google.
- Fixes an issue when replying to a Mail message sent by a person whose name contains certain characters such as é or ü.
- Improves performance for users bound to an Active Directory domain.
- Improves reliability of Ethernet connections.
- Systems with a Mac Pro RAID Card (Early 2009) installed can now be put to sleep.
- Improves reliability of fibre channel connections, resolving a potential Xsan volume availability issue.
- Adds RAW image compatibility for additional digital cameras.

all I'm interested in is if they have spent anytime on the HDMI issues. My lovely shinny new HDMI Mac Mini is better as a drinks coaster then an HTPC, If I could get my 5 yr old one back I would in a flash!

Anyone with a new mini connected via HDMI want to let on if they have seen any handshaking improvements?

Wow... I just got home from work and found my new MBPro d/l all this stuff. I forgot I had auto update on and checking for updates weekly and auto downloading them.

Look, I dont mind the occasional update here and there, but Apple just released GIGS worth of updates this past week. All at once. And with my ISP's ludicrously expensive capping plan, I will have used up all my month's bits (3GB) just from updating my Macs, which are working perfectly fine and dont require any freaking updates, as far as I'm concerned.

Anywho... just venting, and to those who are in the same boat with their ISP's, I recommend you turn auto update off as well.

Hey, remember when Apple released Snow Leopard and they boasted about how small and unbloated it was going to be. Yea, sure, if you dont count the size of these huge freaking updates...and not just the OS... look at the new iTunes... over 800Mb. Crazy!
