|
|
Mac Mini 1.66GHz 2GB ram
OS X 10.6.4
Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro (UVC)
When plugged into USB on the Mini the QuickCam does appear in System Profiler.
Logitech Camera:
Product ID: 0x09a6
Vendor ID: 0x046d (Logitech Inc.)
Version: 0.09
Serial Number: 8FA79360
Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec
Location ID: 0xfd100000
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 500
The Power Light on the QuickCam does NOT come on. Have tried other USB ports still nothing.
Oddly enough an older Logitech Zoom WebCam will indeed POWER UP but craps out with a Gps failure.
I'm trying to avoid a reinstall of OS X.
Clues greatly appreciated.

Have you tried it with the Macam driver?
Also, have you tired firing up Skype to see if Skype sees it?

Thanks SC
Tried it with the MacCam - No Joy. Power up LED does not come on.
Haven't tried Skype yet but I can't see where it would make any difference as the CAm itself isn't getting any power.

I have a QuickCam 9000 Pro or something like that. The power LED isn't on until I use it in Skype. That is why I suggest trying it with Skype.

Success!
You were pretty much right.
I haven't used it with Skype yet but after a couple of reboots and permission fixes Photo Booth recognizes the cam AND the LED does come at the same time.
I'd been working under the false assumption that the LED on this cam would activate upon USB connection as does the other Logitech Cam. Never assume comes back to bite AGAIN!
Now just have to reactivate a long dead Skype account.
Thanks again! -_Q |
