I want to run some Windows apps on my mac.
I have my mini. I bought Parallels. I have my Toshiba laptop with Windows XP, but no disc, (when I sent the laptop to Comp USA for repair, they did not include the disc in the return package, and I did not notice it!!)
Now I think I must BUY Windows to run my Windows apps on the mini.
Any help on a cheap way to get XP sp-3?
Thanks |

| Word of caution, the 2010 Mini is the only Mini capable of Boot Camping a 64 bit OS. You can use Parallels with 64 bit windows on earlier models, but not Boot Camp. Not sure why they made it this way, but it took me a while to figure it out. |

if I understand you correctly is, the '10 Alumini can run 32 or 64 bit via Bootcamp
as well as through virtualization and the older versions of the mini can only
run 64 bit through virtualization.
Did I understand you correctly? _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

| Yes, for whatever reason, virtualization works just fine. But to boot camp, on say a 2009 Mini, you can only use 32 bit. |

I have been running Win 7 64bit in bootcamp successfully for quite a while on my 2009 mini. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

| Hmm, I couldn't get it to work. And the Boot Camp support files at Apple's site explicitly state that only the 2010 one is 'compatible' with 64 bit operating systems. Maybe you got a unique one, and they weren't willing to say that any would work. |

There are a few different ways to get Win7 x64 up and running.
This cmd for works from the Terminal app to install the 64bit drivers.
D:
cd “Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple”
msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi
I used a different method than the above. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)
