|
|
I've been thinking about buying a current MacPro.
So, I've been reading up on it. I would like to install
five internal SATA Hard Drives along with the one DVD
drive that it comes with.
Wikipedia states that you can install a second DVD drive.
The first DVD drive is a SATA and the second is an IDE
(PATA) and not a SATA. If you want to install a second
SATA DVD drive (or SATA Hard Drive) you'll need to use
one of two extra SATA connections found inside of
the machine and run a SATA extension cable to the
second SATA DVD (or SATA Hard Drive).
My question is, is that true? I thought everything inside
of the NEW MacPro would be SATA. Does the NEW MacPro
still have an IDE (PATA) connection for the second DVD slot?
If YOU own a new MacPro and have done what I would
like to do, is that correct information? Thank
you for your help!!! _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with

Here are the specs that Apple has on their website:
http://www.apple.com/macpro/specs.html.
Looks like all SATA. I would suggest Wikipedia to be
the last source for finding current systems.
Ooops, my formatting was strange _________________ 2.0 GHz i7 Mini 8 GB RAM, OWC Merc Extreme SSD & Samsung Spinpoint

Thank you. I go to them for general info but
just wanted to make sure. Thanks again! _________________ 2011 Mac mini 2.7 GHz i7 with
