Transfer old Mini to a New Mini

About those transfer….

My old one are 10.4.11 and can it transfer to a Snow Leopard ?
OR have to be the same 10.4.11 to the 10.4.11 ?

AND what Firewire Cables to get?

Hope to get those message asap before buying a new mini mac!

you would need a fw800 to fw400 most likely.


you won't be able to transfer directly i don't believe the new machine will run tiger so you would need to up grade to snow leopard.

one more thing I would use superduper to clone a backup of the hdd in the old mini.

it is free and it works you need an external hdd to make the clone.

Lucky..i have superduper..
I just get
Copy : Macintosh HD
to
:Macintosh HD Backup (I'd name those HD)

...OR would be better for me to update the Snow Leopard Box Set then get a FW800 to FW400 then it won't be a problem?

I don't mind update the Snow Leopard onto my old Mini Mac and then Sell both Old Mini mac AND Snow Leopard
