Hubbell Unveils Two New Mounts for Mac Mini
Wednesday December 7, 2005
Hubbell Automation introduced the Mini mount for Mac mini last month. Now comes word of the Mini mount Shelf and Mini mount Universal. The Mini mount Shelf is designed to provide support and protection for your Mac mini when mounted under a shelf, table, or desk. "Not everyone has a wall that they can put the Mac mini on but there's a heck of a lot of shelves and desks out there whose undersides are largely going unused. Enter the Mini mount Shelf. We've taken from the design of the Mini Mount Universal and changed a few things around to give you a stable, secure surface that attaches to the underside of just about any surface. Tables, shelves, desks, even the occasional Mac-mini-in-a-car project." The Mini mount Shelf is shipping now and retails for $49.99.
The Mini mount Universal is a wall mount, similar to the Mini mount except that it allows the Mac mini to be mounted in just about any orientation. "Mounting the Mac mini on the wall at nearly any angle posed some serious design challenges. We didn't want the case to take away from the sleek design of the Mac mini, but we also wanted to make sure that your computer didn't become one with the floor. So, the design of the Mini mount universal incorporates wider holder tabs that "hug" your Mac mini and two 1.5" posts that keep your Mac from sliding out. It's a simple, elegant way to solve a tough problem." The Mini mount Universal is shipping now and retails for $49.99 or $69.99 with backlighting.

| The backlit wall mount is so damn cool...hard to justify spending $70 on it, but still very cool. |

| I wouldn't mind having one of the shelf mounts. My desk is always a mess and it would be nice to have the mini out of harms way. They do seem a little overpriced for a piece of plastic. I guess they can charge more for this kinda stuff in a niche market. |

Can I ask you to wait a few weeks? Who knows, perhaps another company will offer another product at a lower price? |

I like the backlighting idea on a wall, that's cool.
The backlighting for $20 is a fair price, but $50 for the stand is about $30 too much. |
