Got my iPad at the UK Birmingham Apple store yesterday morning, got there at 6:30 (doors opened at 8:00) and there was already around 40-50 people queuing.

By the time it was open-doors time, and according to the Apple dudes counting.. there was a queue pushing 150+

Bought the 32GB 3G version, and wow, what a device. It kinda makes you speechless.

Indeedy!

Thought I'd do a battery test today, have used it pretty much full-on from 7am until 4pm, and even then I had 16% remaining up until when I put it back on charge.

Great usage on a single cycle.

I've noticed the same the battery life does seem pretty amazing.

I've been watching video on mine quite a bit and I used it none stop Thursday night and all day yesterday from 10am to past midnight. Most of the time I was running on battery but I did occasionally throughout the day plug in the USB lead to syncing new apps and music etc so it did at times get some power from the iMac but it's only trickle charging then and not really boosting the battery %.

Looks like I'm going to have to visit my local Apple reseller and see what all the fuss is about... Cool

what will you use your ipad for? 50/50 between net and mails? just for eBooks or take it on the streets with maps like we do with a phone?

are we compelled to buy because its a must have or because we really need it on daily basis, even if we own a mac already?

me its more a rush of fashionable kit to have to read eBooks and look the net when im away from my mac, specially late at night or early morning when im lazy to get up to my desktop wifi pc Wink

mac is a pc, right? either windows or apple are both Personal Computer but somehow the companies and its followers/followers managed to make them 2 different tools Sad
