Hi,

I purchased a Mac Mini 1.25 with no Airport or Bluetooth in May, and, guess what, now I do need the wireless connectivity (flame away Wink )

I haven't found a clear statement if it's possible to put in the hardware by yourself and how hard / dangerous it is.

I did open my Mac Mini to upgrade RAM and I found that very easy to do, is installing the wireless board doable ?

Thanks for the info!

You've done the hardest part to upgrading any Mini, opening it.

I haven't added BT or AE, but upgraded to a 5400 80G drive, piece of cake.

The Airport and Bluetooth need special antennas that the mini doesn't come with if you didn't order it that way. I have heard of a kind of kit that has them in it (heard it from someone else on this site), or you need to have it installed at an Apple store.

A kit to upgrade the Mac Mini to BT & Airport is available from LA Computer Co:

I just looked around, and here is another one.

Most of the places I found were out of stock.

Hi - I had this upgrade a few months ago - and it is easy as sin!

This guy on ebay is a star - you will have no issues with buying from him... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mac-Mini-Bluetooth-Airport-Extreme-upgrade-kit-module_W0QQitemZ5835666040QQcategoryZ80061QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

once you get it follow this guide ... http://www.pbfixit.com/Guide/82.0.0.html

and you'll be sorted in about 20mins.

Good luck!

I wouldn't buy the upgrade kit if you live close to an Apple Store. They'll install one for 99 bucks.

If you have already opened up the mini I wouldn't pay the $90 - you've already done the hardest part!
