Thanks?? |

| I don't have an AE, but can't you log on and check for attached devices or something like that? |

| Run the Airport Utility, go to Manual Setup - Advanced - Logs and Statistics - Wireless clients |

I would set up MAC address filtering and set up WAP2 on my router. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

| Thought about that, but one of the computers on my network is older and doesn't support WAP2 or even WAP |

Can you WIRE that computer to the Airport Base Station, and then use WPA2 for the rest on WiFi? _________________ Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray |

Using the MAC address filtering isn't fool proof, but it will prevent the average user from using your system. You can also not broadcast the SSID or in Apple language "create a closed system" you'll need to know the name. A third, fun option, is to rename your AE to something like "Homeland Security" or "Under_FBI_Investigation" or the best one "imgaytryingtologontosomeoneelseswifi" _________________ iMac 24" 2.4 GHz 4GB | Logitech S530 | Z-2300 speakers | NewerTech Guardian MAXimus RAID

I wish! But that computer is actually the furthest one from the base station. |

Here is another option. Buy a USB wifi dongle for the noncompliant computer that supports WEP or preferably WAP2. They can be found rather cheap. $15-$20.
Here is an example of one that would work.

And like I said earlier MAC address filtering would be an option. It is easy to spoof a MAC address and still gain access, but the average user won't be able to do this. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

| Make a guest network for that computer and keep the rest on the WPA2 |
