|
|
I've only been waiting since Christmas for the 13.3 MBP to get an "update."
Kinda upset they didn't put the i3 or i5 in the "latest" model, but oh well, my C2D 2.0 Mac mini has never seemed "slow," so I'm sure this 2.4 will do everything I need it to and then some...
I'm a student (again) and will be taking this little guy to school. My backpack already has a "sleeve" in it, but it just doesn't seem safe enough...
I'd like to get both a "shell" as well as a soft zip-up case for it...
Suggestions? _________________ --Marcus

I bought the Case Logic sleeve and the Speck black satin see through hard shell, both fit and work great. The sleeve fits kind of tight since putting the hard case on, but still fits. People will tell you that your laptop will heat up with the hard case on, its not true, all vents are wide open and mine never get any hotter that its supposed to. _________________ Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM 500GB HD

Interesting, I was leaning toward the speck soft-touch shell, but those are interesting...

Did the change the exterior at all? I thought they just changed the interior components but thanks for bringing that point up. Will need to make sure...

Both, permanent shell plus additional sleeve for backpack...
I'll google "Zeroshock case," haven't heard of it yet...

I was thinking of going with a black speck shoft-touch hard-shell...
Wish I could get one in green...
As for the temps, this thing seems to stay quite cool. My old old old Dell laptop would burn your legs off after 30 minutes. I haven't even heard a fan kick on. Surely it has one, right? lol Must be super quiet. I guess I could install that internal temp monitor to see if there is a significant difference before and after. I'm with you though, probably not enough of a difference to matter.

Thanks for the replies yall, keep the suggestions/comments/etc coming... _________________ --Marcus

^thanks!
I have another question, first some background...
When I got my first iPhone (3 years ago?) I got a case for it, of course, well as dirt got between the phone and the case (in my pocket) that dirt ended up scratching the iPhone...
When I got my 3gS I decided to buy the invisishield protector for the entire phone. I've had it for almost a year now, no scratches from any cases I've had on it. Its almost like the phone is wrapped in shrink wrap...
With that in mind is it worth it to get the invisishield for my MBP? Is it possible that the laptop will get scratched from lint/dirt etc that might get between the laptop and its case?
Thanks! _________________ --Marcus

Speck soft-touch hard-shell case is on its way...
Considering this as well...

Seems kinda thin, but my backpack has an area for a laptop that is slightly padded. Between the hard-shell case, this sleeve and the padding in the bag I think it'll be ok...
Thoughts?
Still haven't decided on the invisible shield yet... _________________ --Marcus
